TP Philippines Provides Job Opportunities at Career Fair
TP Philippines participated in the April 2026 SM and NU Career Fair, providing mock interviews and industry insights to thousands of graduating Filipino students.
TP in the Philippines (formerly Teleperformance) participated in the “Bridges to Success” career fair, organized by the National University (NU) in partnership with SM Offices.
NU Human Resources (HR) Senior Director Lyle Dela Cerna and SM Offices Vice President (VP) and Business Unit Head Alexis Ortiga welcomed attendees, as they noted the importance of industry-academe collaboration in preparing graduates for the workforce.
“We hope to engage with more academe partners this year and showcase to graduates the opportunities of working in an advancing environment of the IT-BPM (Information Technology-Business Process Management) sector,” said Rachel Cacabelos, VP HR of TP, in an April 17, 2026 press release.
The March 21 event, held at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City, gathered 3,500 graduating students from five NU campuses.
The career fair bridged the gap between students and employers while preparing the attendees for the job market. The event’s forums addressed the challenges of identifying viable career paths and understanding industry demands across diverse sectors.
Career Advice for Graduates Entering the IT-BPM Industry
During the panel discussion segment “From Campus to Career,” speakers from partner organizations, including TP in the Philippines, discussed the golden rule for fresh graduates entering the workforce.
“A fresh graduate’s academic journey should never be discounted,” said TP’s Business Development Manager Deng Lopez. “Earning a degree is a significant achievement that deserves real weight in job interviews and provides a strong foundation for a first-time job seeker.”
Graduates must change their mindsets as they start their career growth journey, TP Recruitment Director Joan Gapol said.
“Do not think that you don’t have the experience, because the moment that you started your internship journey, it counts as the experience that employers are looking for,” Gapol said.
TP’s talent and recruitment booth drew in students interested in learning more about career opportunities within the organization. TP representatives engaged with attendees, providing information on roles across various fields and guiding them through the initial application process.

TP Launches Solar-Powered Jeepney for Applicant Recruitment
TP also debuted the rollout of its solar-powered, modern jeepney, parked outside the SMX Convention Center. The setup attracted student attendees, who received tokens and prizes for registering and participating in on-site activities.
TP, moreover, provided 1-on-1 practice interviews and interview skills assessment sessions with its recruitment professionals.
Applicants received personalized tips and feedback from TP’s expert recruiters, helping them improve their communication skills and build confidence ahead of real-world job applications.
“I felt overwhelmed at first, but looking at the whole experience, I believe that this initiative is great since it made me experience real-life interview sessions that can help me build more confidence as I chase my own career path in the future,” said Samantha Implementa, one such student.
Another participant, Kate Ashley Sanchez, shared how, for her, “the mock interview session was actually good and eye-opening. Although this is not the first time that I have had real job interviews, during the session, it felt like I was learning something new again, especially on the way that I should handle job interviews in the near future.”
TP plans to participate in more career and job fairs in collaboration with academic institutions and government partners, to support Filipino talent and drive inclusive employment opportunities nationwide.

Frequently Asked Questions
To overcome the “no experience” hurdle, substitute the idea of being a blank slate with a focus on your internship journey. As TP Recruitment Director Joan Gapol notes, internships count as the real-world experience employers are looking for. By framing your academic achievements and internships as a “strong foundation,” you add weight to your profile and transition from a student to a viable job seeker.
The secret is engaging in 1-on-1 practice interviews and skills assessments with industry professionals. Participating in mock sessions—like those provided by TP at the SMX Convention Center—allows you to receive personalized feedback on your communication style. This “hands-on” preparation helps you handle real-world pressure and provides an eye-opening look at how to refine your responses before the actual stakes are high.
A frequent mistake is discounting your academic journey or feeling overwhelmed by the “advancing environment” of the industry. To fix this, acknowledge that earning a degree is a significant achievement that carries real weight. Avoid being a “bystander” in your career; instead, actively engage with recruitment booths and forums to understand specific industry demands and identify viable career paths that align with your skills.
“Store” the personalized tips from expert recruiters as a confidence-building toolkit. Use the feedback to identify areas for improvement, such as the way you handle difficult questions or your non-verbal communication. By viewing these sessions as a learning experience, you build a “bridge” between your current skills and the expectations of a high-tech workforce, ensuring you are prepared to chase your chosen career path.
The core ingredients are inclusive employment initiatives, career fairs, and innovative recruitment tools, such as TP’s solar-powered modern jeepney. Successful collaboration requires academe partners and industry leaders to work together to showcase opportunities in growth sectors like IT-BPM. By providing students with tokens, prizes, and real-life interview scenarios, organizations create a supportive “ecosystem” that drives national talent toward a successful transition from campus to career.
