After getting to experience both remote and office work in these trying times, employees now want to have the best of both worlds

Like the rest of the world, work is constantly changing. Even in the present day, as technology and science make new breakthroughs each passing year, humans tend to adapt their work ethic to their environment. Office work used to be the norm wherein workers would grind for long grueling hours, spend hours in their commute, and would sometimes have a drink or two on Friday nights. While some would get burned out every single day of their lives, others prefer having a healthy professional and personal life balance.

Caring for the employees and making sure their needs are met, whether physically or psychologically, is what a human resources department stands for. Due to the rapidly-changing world and newfound struggles in maintaining a healthy and safe work environment, the current generation of HR workers would often find themselves in distress as they strive to keep their people satisfied.

The New Era: Working From Home

In 2020, the daily cycle of going back and forth between the office and home was shattered by the unforgiving phenomenon of COVID-19. Since then, working from home became mandatory as companies made use of their emergency funds to provide the equipment and software needed to ensure that employees would still remain productive even as they bask in the warmth and comfort of their own homes.

Unfortunately, not everyone has had a taste of this autonomy for long. In 2021, some companies proceeded to have their employees return to the office right away, a decision not welcome by many. Thankfully, more lenient laws paved the way for a third option to come forth as the fear of the pandemic eases from the hearts of the public. The numbers from the in-depth research conducted by Sprout Solutions have shown that around 43% of on-site employees are enthusiastic about the hybrid work option.

From the results of their surveys and thorough research, Sprout Solutions introduces the Future of Work white paper to promote an effective solution for the better future of work and to give backup help to HRs all over the country to maintain a superb hybrid work setup.
