DOT Celebrates Inclusion of 5 PH Hotels
The Department of Tourism (DOT) celebrated the addition of the five hotels to the prestigious list. All the hotels included in the list are DOT-accredited.
“The inclusion of these DOT-accredited hotels in the MICHELIN Guide not only strengthens the Philippines’ positioning as a destination of choice for world-class hotel and tourism experiences, but also affirms the renowned Filipino warmth and excellence in hospitality, which serve as hallmarks of the country’s tourism brand under the Marcos administration,” the department said.
The Michelin Guide Comes to the Philippines
Inclusion in the Michelin Guide brings substantial recognition and prestige, often serving as a benchmark of excellence in the hospitality industry. Consequently, many restaurants, cafés, bars, and even hotels aspire to earn a spot on this highly coveted list.
Following the Michelin Guide’s announcement of its entry into the Philippines earlier this year, the food and beverage (F&B) sector—particularly in Metro Manila, Cebu, Pampanga, Tagaytay, and Cavite—is abuzz with anticipation. Industry players are keenly speculating whether the anonymous Michelin Inspectors are currently evaluating establishments or have already begun their discreet assessments.
The full restaurant selection of the MICHELIN Guide Manila and Environs & Cebu 2026 will not be revealed until later this year, but many are now anticipating how this list will change local F&B as we know it.
Whether or not the Michelin Guide will have a positive effect on the restaurants that make it to the list remains to be seen, but what is certain is that the F&B sector and the Filipino foodies cannot wait to find out just who will make it on the list.
