The latest leg of the Holistic Oral Health Initiative focuses on the workforce of the BPO industry.

The American Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (AmCham) proudly supports the latest phase of the Holistic Oral Health Initiative.

The Holistic Oral Health Initiative is a partnership led by Kenvue, a global leader in consumer health products, in collaboration with the Department of Health (DOH). Highlighting the importance of comprehensive oral care and workplace wellness, the latest phase of the Holistic Oral Health Initiative focuses on one of the country’s most dynamic economic sectors—the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) industry.

AmCham Philippines supported the campaign through its Healthcare and Wellness and Human Capital and Resources Committees.

“We are proud to support this important initiative with Kenvue and the Department of Health,” said AmCham Philippines Executive Director Ebb Hinchliffe.

“We believe in empowering the workforce through preventive care and wellness education, and this partnership is a step in the right direction for employee health in high-impact sectors such as the BPO industry,” said Hinchliffe.

A Focus on the BPO Workforce

Building on the success of earlier activations in Metro Manila in January and Cebu in May, the newest leg of the initiative, held in June 2025, shines the spotlight on the Philippines’ BPO workforce

The BPO industry is known for its fast-paced and high-pressure work environments, which makes the need to provide BPO employees with practical and accessible wellness interventions more urgent.

With Kenvue’s commitment to empowering healthier communities through education and accessible care, the latest round of the initiative aims to promote awareness and encourage healthier habits among members of the BPO workforce.

Self-Care Awareness Campaign for BPO Employees

In line with goals of the collaboration among AmCham Philippines, Kenvue, and DOH, an event was held on June 19 with the goal of delivering impactful wellness messages that emphasize holistic oral health and smoking cessation as integral parts of employee well-being directly to BPO employees and HR leaders.

The program likewise featured case studies and best practices from BPO firms that have successfully implemented internal health and wellness initiatives.

Among the topics covered during the event are the current state of oral health in the Philippines, the benefits and misconceptions about mouthwash, and how access to oral healthcare can be improved in the country.

In championing oral health and overall well-being in the workplace, the Holistic Oral Health Initiative’s latest phase marks a significant step toward empowering the BPO workforce through education and preventive care. With strong collaboration among Kenvue, the Department of Health, and AmCham Philippines, this initiative reinforces the vital link between employee health and productivity—setting the stage for a healthier, more resilient workforce in one of the country’s key sectors.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Holistic Oral Health Initiative is a health campaign led by Kenvue and supported by AmCham Philippines to improve dental hygiene standards and wellness access across corporate workforces.

AmCham focuses on BPO workers due to night shift demands, dietary habits, and irregular schedules that expose business process outsourcing employees to higher risks of dental issues.

Kenvue supports wellness by partnering with major chambers of commerce to deploy targeted educational programs, health interventions, and preventative dental hygiene resources directly to corporate sectors.

Employers play a vital role by integrating preventative dental care programs into standard workplace wellness policies, directly boosting long-term employee productivity and reducing overall medical absenteeism.

Oral health is critical for productivity because untreated dental conditions cause severe chronic pain and systemic health complications, which directly lead to increased employee absenteeism and operational disruptions.
