With a production capacity comparable to gigafactories, VinFast’s Hai Phong plant achieved a record-high production of 200,000 EVs in 2025.

VinFast Hai Phong Automotive Manufacturing Complex rolled off its 200,oo0th electric vehicle (EV) in 2025, a milestone that follows more than a year of the company maintaining its position as the best-selling car brand in the Vietnamese market.

The 200,ooth EV was the Limo Green, a 7-seater pure electric multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) that set a sales record of 9,642 units in November 2025, representing the highest monthly sales volume for any car model to date.

The 2025 output at the Hai Phong plant includes vehicles for the Vietnamese domestic market and exports to international markets.

This milestone is a testament to the intellect, capability, and tireless efforts of Hai Phong plant’s 18,000 employees, according to Trinh Van Ngan, VinFast Global’s Deputy CEO of Manufacturing.

“This is a significant and meaningful landmark that strengthens our confidence in conquering challenging future goals, proving the quality and stature of the Vietnamese automotive brand and its people to the world,” he said.

“With our manufacturing network expanding into key markets like India and Indonesia, I am confident that VinFast will achieve even more breakthroughs, faster, and stronger growth in 2026 and beyond.”

To meet peak demand in December, the plant’s capacity was increased to its maximum, reaching about 26,000 vehicles produced during the month. A record daily output was recorded on December 14, 2025, with 1,062 vehicles produced, averaging nearly 43 vehicles per hour. This production level is comparable to the world’s largest gigafactories, demonstrating the high level of production optimization at the VinFast Hai Phong plant.

The facility features over 1,200 ABB robots (robotic systems manufactured by industrial technology company ABB Ltd.) and a workforce of more than 18,000 employees working in three flexible shifts, with an automation rate of up to 90%.

Beyond electric cars, the complex likewise recorded record-high production for electric motorcycles and electric buses in 2025, which supports the public adoption of green transportation.

VinFast also operationalized three other plants in 2025 in Ha Tinh (Vietnam), Tamil Nadu (India), and West Java (Indonesia).

By the end of November 2025, VinFast had sold a total of 147,450 EVs of all types.

The automotive manufacturer was projected to conclude 2025 with the highest sales and market share in the history of Vietnam’s automotive industry.

The complex features a highly optimized production layout operating at an automation rate of up to 90%. Backed by an active workforce of 18,000 employees working in flexible three-shift rotations, the facility utilizes over 1,200 advanced ABB robotic systems to execute precision assembly tasks.

During peak demand cycles, such as the year-end operational surge, the facility increases its production capacity to manage extreme volumes. The factory achieved a single-day record of 1,062 vehicles, which translates to a manufacturing speed of nearly 43 electric vehicles completed per hour.

The milestone vehicle was a Limo Green, a pure electric 7-seater multi-purpose vehicle (MPV). This fleet-oriented model set an unprecedented industry benchmark by recording thousands of individual domestic deliveries in a single month, signaling high consumer demand for sustainable transit alternatives.

The enterprise expanded its manufacturing network outside of Vietnam by operationalizing three new multi-vehicle factories. These production nodes are strategically located across high-growth developing economies, specifically targeting regional consumer demand through localized facilities in Tamil Nadu, India, and West Java, Indonesia.
